Kayak HIN LookupIdentify Your Kayak

A hull identification number tells you who built the boat and when. It does not encode the model. We decode what it does say, then narrow the database to the models that manufacturer was building that year.

By hull identification number

Usually moulded into the upper starboard side of the transom or the stern deck.

By measurement

The most reliable way to narrow the list. Measure the hull end to end, and across at its widest point.

Feet and inches or centimetres both work. A plain number is read as centimetres.

By manufacturer and year

Photo identification

Not available yet. The database already stores the visual identification notes that separate one generation from the next, which is what a photo tool would need, so this is a feature we can add without changing the data model.
